Holiday Wishes 2009 (Four years and counting!)

A little about myself:
My name is Jen and I am 27 years old. I live in the frozen north by a giant lake with my 8 children (7 cats and a dog) and my wonderful girlfriend. I (like everyone else in some way) am having a really emotionally trying time this year. I have had a lot of things go wrong this year and it has taken it's toll on me and my girlfriend.

In past years I have been very material oriented in my posts. I think this year I will edge more towards the well wishes and dreams. I could use those more these days anyway. That doesn't mean I might not ask for one material item. . .

WISHES

1. My biggest wish right now would be some good thoughts sent my way. I have having a horrible time with my job treating me like I am less than human, but with the economy the way it is I can't just quit. I have too many people depending on me to bring in a paycheck to leave them stranded. The biggest issue is that I am also going to school full-time to be an accountant (my work is full-time over nights) and my boss is making impossible for me to get to class. He keeps changing my schedule later and later and it is tearing me up mentally. So the dream is that one of the jobs I applied for recently calls me back so I can get out of there.

2. That brings me to wish number two. My girlfriend and I (mostly her) run a "geeky" (by "geeky" I mean anime, video games, comics, and ect) blog on LJ and Blogger. Even if you aren't into it but you know someone who is, mind passing the word along? If nothing else we would both love more followers/readers. It is always fun to find more people interested in this kind of stuff. We both (again, mostly her) do go through and comment our "friends" so it would also be like adding a new LJ friend.

3. Well wishes for my time in school. This whole job thing has taken a major toll on my grades. I thankfully have a very understanding set of teachers. If all goes well I will graduate in May.

4. Paid LJ time for my journal. LJ is a great outlet for me these days. It is a place I am allowed to vent, to rant, and to be free. Plus who doesn't love a ton of icons?

5. Xbox360 points. I really want to the Settlers of Catan game and it is available by download only.

6. Be kind to your pets. Animals are often forgotten in the hussle and bussle of the holiday season. They need love too.

7. Please do not give a pet as a gift unless you know for a fact that the person you are giving it to wants it and has the means to care for it. A living creature is not a toy to pass around and return when it is not longer wanted or cute enough.

8. My car to hold out this winter. I have to wait until some time next spring when my family will be able to help me get a newer car. So right now I just hope mine makes it through. Getting stuck in a snowstorm is not my idea of a good time.

9. A copy of Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 on DVD for my girlfriend. She really loves these movies and I have been looking to get her real copies. She doesn't like burns or downloads.

10. Pipe dream wish: A PS3 with Metal Gear 4. I have been a long standing fan of the metal gear series and this game looks amazing. Sadly, this just doesn't fit into my budget right now.

Feel free to leave me a comment or send an email my way sivercat@yahoo.com.

Thanks again for looking!

I will be thinking of you and praying for you. I hope things get better for you very soon. I also hope you are able to graduate (congratulations!) and that your car makes it this winter. Hang in there *hugs*
Thank you so much. It may not actually do anything real, but I always feel better knowing there is someone out there pulling for me.

Plus I think my car has been taken over by gremlins, so thoughts and wishes may actually help out!
I'm sending good thoughts your way! I really do hope, even with the economic as it is, that you can find another job - or that your boss starts being kinder so that everything you need to do can get taken care of and you're not being stretched so thin. Best of luck on graduating in May too!
hehe. you live in my city :) feel free to add. at least we can complain about the weather together.

good luck at school and everything else. its a hard town to be living in right now, even if your in school.
Wow, another Duluthian! The weather actually hasn't been that bad recently.

Yeah, our city has never been known for it's job market. Let us hope it improves soon.
As always, you have my mental and emotional support via LJ and O-D! *hugs*
I was hoping I could do more on your wishlist in return for what you sent me on Gaia, but it seems that there is none I can fulfill other than the good thoughts, not giving pets for Christmas and being kind to my own pets. I agree that people give pets for Christmas and they end up being mistreated or sent to a shelter or dropped off later, and it's very sad to see. I hope your car gets through the winter! Thank you very much for your donation on Gaia. :) I hope you have happy holidays!!
