Wish in one hand...

Hey there Holiday elfling-types... Rob here. No woe is me message here. I'm 32, married with kids, living in Orlando. Life is actually pretty good, all things considered. I could complain (couldn't we all?) but instead of whining, I believe in being grateful for what you DO have, instead of focusing on what you don't. I'm glad to see this community going, it just does something to me to see people who don't even know each other give each other a little happy.

My wife got me into this a couple of years ago, and I must admit that her generosity and holiday spirit has become pretty contagious. I was fortunate enough to be able to grant a handful+ of wishes last year, and I am looking forward to doing even more this year. I never thought that being a "holiday elf" would really be so gratifying. Going through these lists and granting a wish here and there makes my dreary and stress-filled work days go by a little faster and it balances things out so I have a smile at the end of the day. But for the past couple years I've been helping out people on the list, and this year I'm anticipating bringing as many smiles as I possibly can.

1. Bottle of Moonlight/Starlight/Sunlight lotion made by the Nature Company in the late 90's. It was discontinued and then the store went out of business. It has got to be the best thing I have ever smelled. Ever. I have been unable to find it.

2. Copy of the movie, not the soundtrack, Sex, Death, and Eyeliner. I saw this in 1998-99 at a film festival, and have been unable to get a copy since. Even if you could just tell me where I could even find this anymore.

3. Shag swag. I'm a huge fan of Shag's artwork.

4. Exotic seasonings/marinades. I'm a bit of an experimental cook (and a huge fan of Man vs. Food and Anthony Bourdain), and I'm always up for something new.

5. Photo frames, 11 x 13 or especially 8 x 10. We attend a lot of conventions and we have a collection of autographed photos. We'd like to make a "Wall of Fame" in our home (similar to what you see in some restaurants), and only have a few of the photos on display.

6. A GPS of some sort. Writing down directions on a piece of paper from Mapquest gets pretty old after a while.

7. Since I'm an experimental cook, a new grill to barbecue on would be the bee's knees. However cool bees' knees are supposed to be.

8. Ye Olde Amazon wishlist. Of course, anything used is also just dandy.

and I'll leave those last two wishes out there. Need my info? Shoot me a PM :)

And be sure to tip your waitress.
Believe it or not, I have some bottles of different marinades that I'm not going to get around to using, and I'd be happy to send 'em along to you! Drop me a line at dakotawitch @ gmail dot com with "Holiday Wishes: Exotic Marinades" in the subject and your addy in the body. (I was just fretting that they were just *sitting there* in my pantry...)
This really isn''t a wish fulfillment, but I feel your pain with number one. I loved that lotion years ago and could never remember who made it! Thanks for enlightening me!
There's a lot of us Florida types on the community so far this year! I'm reading through the last few days worth, skimming for wishes to grant and I keep seeing fellow Florida peeps.

Anyway, random observation. Hope you and yours have a beautiful holiday season!
cant help you with the grill, but if youd like the copy of the recipe email im going to put together, im more then willing to send it to you as well. drop me a pm with your contact information
